Household Management for Aging Adults

We’re the operations manager for aging households—managing contractors, overseeing projects, and maintaining the home so it stays safe and functional.

You’re Not Alone In This

If You’re an Adult Child Managing Aging Parents

Your parent’s furnace breaks at 9 PM on a Tuesday. You’re 500 miles away (or 20 minutes away with zero bandwidth). You need:

  • Quotes from three qualified vendors by Friday
  • Someone to communicate with contractors
  • Oversight to ensure the work is done right
  • Updates without 47 text messages

You need a household operations manager.

That’s us.

If You’re an Older Adult

You want to stay in your home. You can manage yourself just fine. But:

  • The house needs more maintenance than you can handle
  • You don’t want to burden your kids with every contractor call and 47 texts
  • You want to stay in control while getting professional support

You need someone to help manage your household operations.

That’s us.

Either Way, We’ve Got This. See How It Works.

What We Actually Do

We ARE:

  • Operations manager for your parent’s household
  • Project manager who vets vendors and oversees projects
  • Office manager where the office is the home
  • Project manager for one-time emergencies (HVAC replacement, major repairs)
  • Safety coordinator for regular home visits (clear walkways, secure handrails, working smoke detectors)
  • Maintenance scheduler and preventative care (lightbulbs, batteries, filters, seasonal service)

We’re NOT:

  • Caregivers (no bathing, dressing, or personal care)
  • Cooks or housekeepers (no meal prep or cleaning)
  • Handymen (we don’t do repairs ourselves)
  • Errand runners (no grocery shopping or errands)
  • Concierge services (we manage household operations, not luxury tasks)
  • Medical professionals (no medication management or health care)
  • Companions (we manage operations, not provide company)

What Real Families Are Saying

Living 3,000 miles from my mother while working a demanding full-time job, I simply don’t have the capacity to help her as much as she needs. Meg changed that. She provided real, hands-on support without overwhelming me or interrupting my workday with constant calls. She vetted and coordinated contractors to paint a rental property, set up utilities, repair damage, and helped my mom navigate health care enrollment, car registration, and iPad issues, all without me having to manage a single detail. I dont know what I would do without her.”

Juli B., Oakland, CA

Project: Updated rental property, managed contractors, navigate health care enrollment

I highly recommend Megan’s services. Not only was she extremely efficient, but she also kept me informed throughout the process. She is very professional and answered my questions quickly, while being very kind and patient. I will recommend her services to all my friends. Definitely a 5-star rating.

Project: Tracked down vital records in California for benefits application

I was very impressed with Megan’s use of technology to find the documents I needed for my Social Security records. She tracked them down to two different counties from out of state. I’m very grateful for her help.

Who This Is For

Remote Families

You live out of the area and need reliable local support for your aging loved ones.

Local Adult Children

Youre nearby, but between your job, family, and life, you dont have the bandwidth.

Older Adults

Older adults who want household support without having to ask family for help.

Busy Families

The sandwich generation—managing two or more households at once while raising a family.

Trustee Support

Attorneys and fiduciaries who need reliable property oversight and assistance with client households.

The Mission: Closing the Gap

Families managing aging parents have plenty of clinical care options, but almost no support for the household operations that keep life running.

Steady Household was created to fill that gap.

You don’t need another person telling you about care options. You need someone who can:

  • Get three qualified quotes for the water heater replacement
  • Be there when the plumber shows up
  • Ensure the work is done right
  • Handle it all so you don't need to worry

That’s what we do.
